Jaguar C-X16 Concept

Jaguar has unveiled the concept C-X16 coupe ahead of Frankfurt Motorshow. The sleek two seater sparked the rumour of new sportscar below the XK model range, competing with the likes of Porsche Cayman.
The stunning concept car is the work-of-art of Ian Callum. It draws inspiration from current XK and C-X75 Concept, with flowing bodylines, somethings Jaguar is famed at.

The car is built on the shortened next generation XK platfrom and powered by hybrid powertrain consists of next generation of Jaguar engine, 3.0 litre V6 supercharged gasoline combined electric motor integrated with 8 speed automatic gearbox driving the rear wheel. The gasoline engine produced 380bhp of power and 450Nm of torque while the electric motor boosts further 95bhp and 235Nm of power and torque. More photos and details after the jump.

The car dimension is 4,445mm in length, 2,048 in width and 1,297mm in height. The wheelbase spans 2,622mm.

The car has F1-inspired KERS boost button on steering wheel. This works in tandem with previously mentioned electric motor to deliver instateneous on-demand acceleration.

C-X16 weights in at 1,600kg, with balanced weight distribution. The car is capable of 4.4 seconds century sprints on its way to 299 km/h top speed. The electric motor alone is capable of sustaining 80 km/h cruise.

The interior is close to production, with sensible and feasible layout with no fancy futuristic gadget such as 3D meter of joystick throttle. Only the color scheme is concept car like with bright red upholstery.
The car has a high floor console layout, with grab handle on the passenger side. This looks realistic enough for mass production saved for minimalist ICE and climate control button. The side aircon vent, door trims and door handles all looks production ready, minus the red of course!
Jaguar C-X16 stays true to Ian Callum trend of producing a flowing, mind-blowingly beautiful car with perfect proportion. The details in the design is emotional and capture the attention despite looking very subtle without  any agressive cutout, duct or sharp-angled elements. Enjoy the small galleries below to appreciate the beauty. Car like this does not come everyday!
