We've been teased a while back with the supercharged Honda CR-Z from Mugen and now the real deal has arrived. Tagged an official nomenclature of Honda CR-Z Mugen RZ, the IMA hybrid powerplant is now augmented by a supercharger. The forced-fed internal combustion engine punch out 154bhp and 185Nm, up from 121bhp and 146Nm of the naturally-aspirated unit, while the electric motor output remain unchanged at 20PS and 78Nm. The total output stands at 174bhp, nearly 30bhp up from the NA version. Performance figures has been improved too with century sprint of 6.1s.
Externally, the Mugen RZ is differentiated by a customized front bumper with a front grille featuring carbon-fibre insert as well as a flared out fog lamp housing surrounding the enlarged lower intake. There a lower lip adorning the bottom end of the front bumper. Mugen has also fitted a side skirt and modified the rear end appearance with a prominent lower valence featuring diffuser and a gigantic rear wing. The interior is decorated in two-tone fabric on the door trim accompanied by carbon fibre trimmings and new gear knob.
The chassis has been uprated with enhanced suspension and braking systems. The car now shod with 205/45 R17 tyres and rims combo.
Honda CR-Z Mugen RZ is a limited production run with only 300 units allocated for Japan market solely. It will be on sale from 26th November onwards.
