Opel/Vauxhall Insignia powertrain update for 2012

Opel/Vauxhall Insignia has received an updated powertrain for model year 2012 for certain market. The engine itself isn't new, but now has been made available to more market reach. The powertrain unit of interest are the 1.4 litres and 2.0 litres turbocharged engine family.

The turbocharged 1.4-liter ecoFLEX petrol engine produced the same output as the old 1.8-liter unit it replaced at  138 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The model also comes with six-speed manual transmission, an engine start/stop system, aerodynamic underbody and restyled 17-inch wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires. The car has a fuel consumption rating of 5.7 L/100km and CO2 emissions of 134 g/km. Performance-wise, the engine enables the Insignia to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 km/h. More after the jump.

Honda Civic Asia 2012 - First Design Review

More pictures of Arab/Asia 2012 Civic start to surface out, thanks to GCC/UAE media during their first taste of the car. Since Arab previous Civic is the same as our Civic, it is safe to assume that this is highly likely to be Asian version too. They concluded that Civic is spacious for compact sedan, with sizable boot. However, driving excitement has been slightly toned down for more bias towards comfort. Finally the price is not that favorable. 

I have run a design comparison of 2012 Civic compared to our current FD model. Both have their pros/cons and some corner has visibly been cut in the 2012 model, evidence of cost cutting. More photos and details after the jump.

Toyota Camry Hybrid 2012 caught during promo shoot

*Updated with non-hybrid front fascia design
A set of new Camry Hybrid photos has surfaced out, when the 2012 model went for promo shooting. For current generation of Toyota Camry, the front and rear detailing for Hybrid model is usually slightly different from the pure-fuel car. The USDM model, furthermore, is even more different from the Asian model. What we see here is never what we will get here in Malaysia, saved for the central section (from A-pillar to C-pillar). Official photos of Mazda CX-5 SUV

Mazda has revealed the official photos of its baby SUV, the CX-5. The SUV is scheduled to make it debut at Frankfurt Motorshow, which will be held from September 13-25, next month. The SUV features SKY-ACTIV technology, which is an environmentally-friendly driven engineering concept, covering advanced powertrain and lightweight bodywork. The car also exhibit Mazda new design direction, displacing off the "nagare" concept, which lately has mutated into weird creatures, such as side waves on their new Mazda5.

Honda Civic Arab unveiled in GCC market
