2014 Land Rover Discovery - Updated Styling & Luxury

Land Rover has upgrade its popular Land Rover Discovery model.  The 2014 Land Rover Discovery receives a new look, new badging, improved fuel efficiency, enhanced audio systems and new driving assistance technology. The rejuvenated equipment level aims to enhance comfort and safety level to the already award-winning model.

The exterior makeover is as subtle and the wind breezing.  A new front grille, new front bumper, new headlamp design with distinctive LED DRL, two new alloy wheel designs are as far as the exterior updates go. Carried over from the current model is the optional ‘Black Design Pack’ which gives revised detailing and 20' black alloy wheels. Another subtle but significant change is the name ‘Discovery’ name replaces ‘Land Rover’ on the bonnet. Engine badging relocates from the tailgate to an ingot mounted on each of the front doors.

The aforementioned new range of driver assistance, comfort and safety features for the 2014 Land Rover Discovery include Wade Sensing (a technology unique to Land Rover), Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection and T-junction Cameras.

The updated entertainment system is the Meridian premium audio option.  The standard system features 8 speakers and 380 Watts of power, while the Meridian Surround system produces an impressive 825 Watts output and features 17 speakers.

The 2014 Land Rover Discovery will continue to be available with the 3.0L SDV6 with 256PS and CO2 emissions reduced from 230g/km to 213g/km, and fuel consumption improved to 35.3mpg.  All models are equipped with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Leak: Land Rover Discovery Facelift

Land Rover Discovery has been in its current form since 2009, when it received a host of styling and drivetrain update from the original 2004 model. For 2013, LR Discovery is set to be updated again to bring the styling on par with Land Rover latest design theme.

The front end will get new headlight, grille and bumper assembly. The current LR Discovery embodied the LED-laden light arranged in intricate structure which was the trend back then, and now as the LED tube come into play, the new headlight is set to change again for a sleeker and more modern appearance. The upper radiator grille insert also is redesigned, together with minor enhancement to the bumper detail.

The change at the back is more subtle, appreciable only by the eagle-eye observer. Customary update include the new rear combination light, albeit very minor as the major detailing is retained.  The rest of the item looks visually similar to the current car.

Land Rover Defender - Vilner crafted lux edition

Among all the spartan and minimalist car in the world, Land Rover should be in top 3 at least. With its exposed hinge, plastic gear lever, tough dashboard, mud-no-problem flooring, it is easily the most simplistic around. Do you fancy cupholder in it? Or maybe leather hide on IP? Forget it! Or you may head to Vilner.

Vilner is a Bulgarian customizer and they have a hefty record in customizing the car. Their recent effort include Smart ForTwo, Toyota iQ and Infiniti FX37. Now enjoy their hand-crafted skills on spartan Defender.
All black exterior imparts massive road presence. Flared arches with tough bull bar, plated hood side and snorkel show serious off-road potent. Yet you surely won't want to dig deep into the mud and step in deep pile carpet. More tasty photos after the jump.
