That elusive first win for both Nico Rosberg and Mercedes AMG PETRONAS has arrived at 2012 Chinese GP. And it was achieved without weather or safety car intervention. People said Mercedes W03 is hard on tyres and will have difficulties in staying ahead even if started on pole. Eat your word people. Not only Rosberg is unchallenged pace-wise at the front, but W03 managed to make it work and stick only to 2 pitstops.
Speaking of pitstops, Rosberg team mate Michael Schumacher who was running second prior to his first pitstop, retired on lap 13 after the front right tyre was not properly secured during his stop. Jenson Button, who finished distance second was also delayed during his third pitstop. The pursuit ended there. Jenson and Lewis completed the podium, making it all Mercedes powered car on the podium.
To speak in term of Malaysia local content, PETRONAS involvement in F1 finally yield a win. And looking at PETRONAS adverts on TV, it can be seen clearly that they are banking a lot to F1 cars/team to make the advert more exciting. Well....
