Nip and tuck for Audi Q5 for 2012

Audi Q5 is one of the more sought after used-import in Malaysia market. Price are still on the high side for the BMW X3-sized SUV, hovering around RM300,000 for the 2009 unregistered sample. Some four years after the worldwide launch, Audi has updated the Q5 range with some minor nip and tuck for 2012. The changes at the front are mostly the revised inner headlight graphic design, slimmer chromed surround for the radiator grille, which in turn has been made more angular with pronounced hexagonal outline.

The front bumper has been re-profiled with slightly more angular looking, with crisper horizontal line above the the fog lamp housing/lower intake area. It is a very subtle changes, but effective in reducing the bulbous look of the current Q5 front fascia design. The fog lamp is now chromed surround too.
At the back, the inner graphic of the tail light has been revised too. Gone is white strip that run along the upper edge of the light, and replaced with more elegant continuous strip of lighting that mirrors the rear light silhouette. The lower section of the bumper has been sharpened too, and the exhaust are now flat-bottomed. More after the jump.
The interior is almost unchanged. This is hardly matters as Audi really does THE interior. The most noticeable change is the new steering wheel, which is now has a circular boss instead of rectangular like the current Q5. The switchgear is now mostly chromed plated instead of high-gloss black. Still, this is the interior  to die for.

Underneath the skin, Audi Q5 gets 2 option of gasoline engine and two diesels. The petrol option starts with 2.0 TFSI with 221hp and 350Nm and new 3.0L V6 turbo which punched out a stunning 268hp and 400Nm. The diesel range starts with 2.0L TDI that generates 141hp and 320Nm and 3.0L TDI with 241hp and 580Nm.Meanwhile, there is an option of hybrid drivetrain for the first time. It couples the 2.0 TSFI engine with the electric motor to churn out a combined 241hp and 480Nm.
