The new 2012 Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia were introduced simultaneously at Pasific Place Jakarta today. The outgoing Avanza and Xenia were the biggest seller for these two companies in Indonesia between 2004 till today, where 981,230 units were sold between them, where 681,035 of that was contributed by the Avanza model. The new Avanza and Xenia was said to be designed as a perfect solution for current family needs in the region where both features a revamped exterior and interior styling, and enhanced in equipment and features.

For the Xenia, there will be 4 variants; D,M X and R. D and M type are powered by 1,000 cc engine paired to manual transmission. The higher-spec M gets an aircon system. X type comes with 1,300 cc engine while R version is the most expensive version which comes with automatic transmission and double blower aircon.
For the Avanza, 1,300cc and 1,500cc engine will continue to be offered. Avanza range starts with E version , followed by G and topped by the Veloz version which is the priciest version.
Among other details available are the new Avanza/Xenia gets the EPS. Dimensionally, the 2012 Avanza/Xenia is 4,140mm long, 1,660mm wide and 1,695mm tall. Wheelbase is 2,665mm. This is 20mm longer, 15mm wider and the wheeltrack of 1,425/1,435mm (F/R) is 20mm wider than outgoing model. This is to enhance the stability of the MPV.
