Official photos of 2012 Porsche 911

The photos of Frankfurt motorshow bound launch of the new Porsche 911 has leaked. These are the official images of the iconic sportscar. The photos revealed an unchanged design philosophy, but has been massaged with the progression is aerodynamics and safety regulation that dictate the surface detail design.
The 2012 car keeps the classic proportion of its ancestor, but added some contemporary touch as LED daytime running light, newly shaped air intakes and the ever thinning rear lights. More details after the jump.

The new car is around 50mm longer than the outgoing model. As usual for Porsche, new model is accompanied by the new engine too. The base Carrera is powered by 3.4 litre flat-6 with direct injection, producing 350bhp and 380Nm of torque. The Carrera S meanwhile is powered by similar layout, but with higher displacement of 3.8 litres, with 400bhp on tap. Both car are available with 7-speed MANUAL or the PDK transmission, both available with launch control function.

The interior adopts the latest Porsche interior design philosophy, with fat centre console pioneed by Carrera GT initially, and refined for Cayenne and Panamera model, and simplified for this new Carrera. It looks thoroughly modern, with little retro touch like previous model.
With only weeks to go before the official launch, expect more news in due course.
